Role Summary:

GE is building small multi-disciplinary operations teams to focus on total availability and automation for the most critical services shared across all business segments. This role will be responsible for operational excellence for the Directory Services space. You will be joining teams that are composed of highly talented individuals obsessively focused on availability.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • The ideal candidate must demonstrate a history of advanced hands on technical experience managing complex environments, leading support efforts across multiple disciplines and troubleshooting around Directory Servers like Oracle 11g, SunOne Directory Servers and Virtual Directory (preferably Radiant Logic)

  • Act as a subject matter expert for GE’s Directory Services product stacks including Oracle , Sunone , CA and Virtual Directory

  • Lead all Service Delivery efforts during incidents/outages impacting applications, ensuring process adherence, root cause analysis, and resolution within agreed to SLA’s

  • Quickly respond and resolve critical service outages severely impacting consumers

  • Assist in establishment of performance baseline, capacity thresholds, correlate events, and define monitoring/alerting criteria

  • Assist in developing automated solutions to address potential problems before they result in a service interruption

  • Available 24x7 to lead critical issue/problem resolution to complex problems where analysis requires in-depth evaluation with imaginative and innovative troubleshooting and experimentation

  • Perform comprehensive operational health checks of the entire services to identify areas of concern and track activities to drive improvements at all levels of the architecture Qualifications/Requirements

  • Investigate root cause of severe and systemic outages, identify corrective actions and apply across the enterprise

  • Develop availability measures that align with consumer experience to accurately assess the usability of crucial services

  • Develop response plans to potential failure points and evaluate effectiveness during planned tests Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience, preferably in Enterprise-wide deployments

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing large scale Directory Servers like Oracle, Sunone , CA and Strong Unix skillsEligibility Requirements:

  • Strong technical and hands-on experience in Security Systems

  • Build, Maintain, Monitor and troubleshoot LDAP Directory servers like Oracle 11g, SunOne, CA

  • UNIX/Linus based LDAP solutions experience

  • UNIX/Linux system administration experience

  • Routine Maintenance including patching/upgrades and compliance management

  • Programming and scripting experience such as Java, Perl, Unix scripting preferred,

  • Undertaking routine maintenance of assigned systems, including system patching/upgrades and compliance management along with outage calls for support

  • Specific expertise in Site Minder, LDAP, and other Authentication systems a plus

  • Familiarity with ITIL incident and change management processes

  • Ability to work well within small team focused on rapid delivery of results

  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships; creates processes with customer viewpoint; partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives
